Curd, also known as yogurt, is a popular dairy product that has been consumed for centuries due to its numerous health benefits. It’s not only delicious but also loaded with essential nutrients like calcium and protein that are vital for maintaining good health. However, when it comes to choosing between packaged or homemade curd, many people are left perplexed about which one is better for their well-being. In this blog post, we will dive into the world of curd and explore both packaged and homemade options so that you can make an informed decision on which one suits your dietary needs best!

      Homemade Curd –

Homemade curd is always best for your health. Curd made out of Cow milk is less thick than comparative to Curd made out of Buffalo milk, as it has less amount of protein named – ‘Casein’. The strength of bacteria in curd made at home is more between 12 to 24 hours and so it’s very healthy for your body. The more days curd is kept, the lesser the bacteria remain in curd which gradually reduces the nutritional value of curd consumed.

      Packaged Curd –

Packaged curd whose shelf life is 10 to 25 days has fewer bacteria or has less nutritional value is not yet been clarified. And much more information about packaged curd is that it contains thickeners, preservatives, sweeteners and chemicals used so that their shelf life should be increased. Even packaged curd includes some amount of milk powder. So we are not sure how much bacteria and nutritional value is present in curd.

Homemade curd is often considered the healthier option because it has no added preservatives or flavourings. Packaged curd, on the other hand, contains additives.  So we recommend having homemade curd irrespective of age, disease and time for everyone.
