Dear Liver Team Sahyadri, I am Jagadeeswara Rao Tyada, F/O Bhuvan Sai Kishore Tyada who has undergone Liver Transplantation due to Wilson’s disease. First, we have seen my elder son Bhuvan’s eyes were full of Yellow on 7th July 19, hence we consulted Dr. Sandeep Jagdale at IMAX hospital in Wagholi for the same. He suggested us to go for tests and it seems to be Jaundice, post-test results he suggested to admit in hospital on the same day. We admitted my son on 07th July 19 in IMAX hospital. The doctor treated him a lot for three days but Bilirubin % was getting increasing day by day.

Then he referred to Sahyadri Hospital at Nagar road and spoke with Dr. Sagar Lad & Dr. Jaleel about the criticality of my son. We admitted my son on the same day (09th July 19) at midnight in PICU. Doctors & staff provided their best service in PICU to treat him for his high Bilirubin %.In timely manner, they suggested to us and treated my son considering high Bilirubin & Copper %. Post 4 days treating him & conduct several tests Dr. Sagar Lad confirmed that it is Wilson’s disease and needs Liver Transplantation. Hence he suggested us meeting Liver Transplantation specialist Dr. Dinesh Zirpe. All doctors including Dr. Dinesh Zirpe, Dr. Sagar Lad & Dr. Jaleel counseled me and my wife on 11th July 19 about the situation & criticality and suggest us to go far donor checking. First I went for tests to check the Liver is suitable for my son or not but unfortunately it was not suitable for him and we tried with my wife but no luck and also we were trying with other family members for the same.

In Deccan Sahyadri, Dr. Bipin Vibute (Liver Transplantation specialist) & Dr. Dinesh Zirpe suggested us to register for a Liver donor in an online portal and both tried their best to giving us guidance and moral support to stable us in the critical situation. In meanwhile brother (Aman Belay) took all responsibility and documentation part to register in the portal for the Liver donor. He helped me a lot to close all relevant documentation and other things. Fortunately by the grace of God Dr. Dinesh Zirpe told us, we have got a Liver donor who is a brain dead patient on 13th July 19 evening but told us to wait till morning (14th July 19) for confirmation from the committee. Dr. Dinesh Zirpe & Dr. Sagar Lad confirmed to us that considering criticality and age we have got the Liver donor, hence we are preparing for an operation in the morning (14th July 19). We are all started praying God for the best and God listened to us, doctors were ready for operation and so many doctors from other departments came and prepared for operation. On the same day by the grace of God Dr. Dinesh Babu had come from Chennai for operating my kid who is a Liver Transplantation specialist. He speaks my mother tongue (Telugu) and provided a brief history of the disease and the importance of Liver Transplantation to my kid.

All Liver Transplantation team (Dr. Dinesh Babu from Chennai, Dr. Dinesh Zirpe, Dr. Bipin Vibute, Dr. Abhijit, Dr. Manish, Dr. Manoj, Dr. Anirudh & Dr. Shailesh) went for operating donor at Adhitya Birla Hospital in Chinchwad and took nearly 6 hours to cut the Liver from the donor and took safely to Nagar road Sahyadri hospital. Meanwhile, they prepared my boy for operation at 9.30 PM on 14th July 19 and started at 12.30 AM till 6 AM on the morning of 15th July 19. We were waiting at the door the whole night to hear good news from doctors, at last in the morning all Liver Transplantation Team came together & told us that operation went well and your son is out of danger now. Then we were really don’t have many words to speak in front of doctors for their greatness. They told us we need to wait for three more days to see his critical condition and kept him in the post Liver Transplantation room. Every minute all specialist doctors check my boy’s condition and how foreign Liver works with local body conditions. By the grace of God, doctors, and all staff, my boy came out of danger and he is under observation now.

Dr. Bipin Vibute and other doctors created a group and also provided a special app to upload all relevant details of my son’s treatment and they are keenly checking every minute and calling us to change in medicine if any. Dr. Bipin & his team calling us daily for any physical changes occurred, which is really a great thing from the hospital and never see such type of service incorporate hospital, thank you very much for each and everyone involved. The above all is one side of the coin and another side; we were struggling for the financial part, as it was a very big operation and an estimated 23 Lakhs which is too much for anybody. At the same time Dr. Dinesh Zirpe, Dr. Sagar Lad, and Br. Aman suggested, we do update your situation and criticality in our financial supporter Mission Prerana, which gives so much financial support to all transplantation patients including with Sahyadri hospitals. Br. Aman & Kaivalya guided me on the procedure of that part. I am mainly thankful to Dr. Bipin Vibute, Dr. Dinesh Zirpe, Br. Aman, Kaivalya & Br. Arun for their kindness to guide us, support us, and move ahead financially.
